After winning the Wyoming title, our business was named the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 2007 Region VIII Home-Based Business Champion Award winner.  We were selected from amongst an elite group of entrepreneurs and community leaders representing Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.  We were fortunate to then advance to win the NATIONAL title. 

In April, we attended SBA Week in Washington, D.C. to receive our distinguished award at the State Department.  The Honorable Steven Preston, Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration, said this, “Your hard work, innovative ideas, and dedication to your community have made you a success in your business and the U.S. SBA is pleased to be able to recognize you for these achievements.” 

While in D.C., we were congratulated by Wyoming Senator Craig Thomas.   We also enjoyed a tour of the White House and an exclusive photo opportunity and interview with Vice President Dick Cheney, also of Wyoming.  He congratulated them on our success and wished us the best in our future endeavors. 

Our business received the Spin-off Industry Award at the 2001 Wyoming Growth Alliance New Products Trade Show.

Kevin was personally honored as the 2000 Outstanding Cooperator by the Wyoming Association of Conservation Districts in recognition of his outstanding contribution to conservation efforts in Wyoming. "For dedication to Agricultural Conservation and Community for commitment to education and the land."

For our commitment to the community, Gaukel Grown & Ground was honored with the 2000 Cooperator of the Year Award by the Niobrara County Conservation District. " For dedication to Agriculture, Conservation and Community. For commitment to education and the land. For support and forethought in our lives."
